Do my naps annoy you?
Do my naps annoy you? How do they make you feel?
Do they make you hate me, for having the courage to be me?
To be everything you wish you could be, and do?
I can see it in your glare, your side-eyed stare?
You wish you were me don't you?
I know its true.
You envy these naps, and though you secretly loathe your own, the complex is you are really killing your true self, as you submit to the demands of society.
You are in chains, but don't worry, just look at me and you will see that I'm free.
I can walk down the street just as proud as I please.
Simply shooting the breeze, watching the wind blow through the trees, I feel so connected to my maker.
Enjoying and loving the way he made me, nappy, and kinks, thick and beautiful.
Everything about me is perfect, no matter who says otherwise!
I smile:)

I am SOO N LUV with Usher and Tameka Raymond
Which makes absolutely no sense at all, when every five minutes another successful black man marries out of his race, and I know almost every black woman has thought had a comment on black men not wanting to marry black women. If Usher would have married some half-white looking female, no one would have said a word. Because we have come to accept this phenomenon as being the norm. We talk about how Black men often ditch the strong black women who help them get to where they are, but once they are living the good life, they want to go off and get a white girl. So when a black man actually wants to marry a REAL BLACK WOMAN, WITH KIDS, and we're still hating? C'mon, whats really good? I really feel that the media and everyone else has really convinced us that we are unworthy of marrying GOOD MEN and living happy lives. Ladies this must stop. We don't have to hide behind the makeup and the weaves just to feel good about ourselves. We don't need make our noses smaller, and relax, or press, our hair to feel beautiful.
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL SIMPLY BECAUSE GOD MADE YOU, AND HE DIDN'T MAKE NOT AN UGLY CREATURE IN THIS WORLD.
When will we start believing this ancient truth?
Oh yeah...back to my new fav celeb couple, I hope they "have a ton of babies and live happily ever after" they deserve it. Hopefully other black men will play follow the leader!

Who Can I Run to When I need LOVE?
In My Name - Rev. Milton Brunson & The Thompson Community Singers
"In My Name' - Rev. Milton Brunson.
Who can I run to when I'm all alone? Who will comfort me when my tears stain the pillow and I feel like I'm all by myself?
"When my father and mother forsake me then the Lord will take me up...Teach me thy way oh Lord and lead me on a plain path because of mine enemies". Nobody but the Lord can keep us warm at night when we are by ourselves. There have been plenty of times when I was weak but the strength of God brought me through. Each day when I am brought low by my circumstances, God is the One to pick me up and make me feel like everything is going to be alright. Each day I'm blessed to walk on this earth, the Lord is showing me that He is all I need; that I don't need a man to be my strength and to hold me. Because no one can hold me like He can. I'm expecting this love relationship to grow more and more each day. One thing I have learned to say is "Jesus I need you"; because I know that I couldn't make it on my own. I'd make too many mistakes, so He knows I can't be trusted to navigate this life of mines with out Him.
Give it ALL to Jesus

First Blog of the year
Since this is the beginning of the year, I figure that I should jot down a list of goals that I hope to see accomplished throughout this year. So when 2010 rolls around I can do a bit of a roll call to see what I actually completed.
1. Treat my body like it is the temple where the most high God dwells.
2. NO More McDonalds. That place is a cancer, and heart disease factory. Don't believe me? Look it up!
3. Meditate on God's Word daily and increase the intimacy during that time.
4. Don't waste time watching television, or surfing FB, when there is clearly something else that could be done.
5. Most importantly: Walking in the purpose that God has for me.
6. Obedience is better than sacrifice.
7. Attempt to Blog daily, or at least every other daily.
8. FALL IN LOVE WITH JESUS. Completely, absolutely, and utterly in love with Him!
9. Fast at least once a week.
10. Come back to this list in 364 days :)
Do you have a list?

Are You Ready for the new year?

"Its a new season its a new day". Wow, I cant believe that in less than 6 hours we will be ringing in the new year, and its a time for celebration! I can already hear the fireworks popping outside my window. God has really blessed me this year; beyond my wildest imaginations. I finished an entire year of college, and my relationship with Him is stronger than ever. With a new year comes new experiences and greater trials and tests lie ahead of us. Many will make resolutions that will not be kept. To exercise more and eat healthier, the list goes on and on. I think that what many people fail to realize is that we don't have to wait for the turning of the calendar to do something new and different with our lives. The first step to a new and better you is simply surrendering your life to Jesus and allowing him to be your Lord and Savior. Forget about your past mistakes and regrets. God does not care about the many skeletons that are hanging in your closet. All he wants is you! "Therefore if any man be in Christ He is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new" 2 Corinthians 5: 17. It doesn't matter to God whether you give your life to Him on January 1 or on May 22. Just don't wait until its too late! The point is to seek Him while he may be found, and to take each day that we are blessed to wake up, as another opportunity to get it right with Him. Once you accept Christ, the transformation has begun, and it will last a lifetime.
Happy New Year!
AJ
